Over the past 15 years, Daniel has gained experience working on a range of informal and formal restructuring engagements, including business side advisory, safe harbour restructuring, administrations, and deed of company arrangements. This has given him the expertise to navigate complex situations and provide effective advice for each unique business case.
Since entering the industry in March 2010, Daniel has focused on the restructuring and turnaround space, including large complex trading assignments. Daniel’s experience was recently put into effect on the Adaman Resources Group mining restructure (c$180m of debt, turnover of c$130m p.a.), where Daniel was the managerial lead on operations.
Daniel has more recently turned his attention to business advisory and safe harbour restructuring. Daniel applies his experience to explore how the safe harbour regime can be utilised in informal restructuring engagements to protect directors, prolong runways, and preserve value.
Daniel provides business advisory and restructuring services and acted as managerial lead on the Milkrun engagement. Daniel’s role was to assist with the wind down of the Milkrun entities, to maximise residual value for shareholders and to allow for an orderly exit to operations.
Daniel has also acted as an advisor to directors facing financial distress and to international lenders to assist with implementing debt recovery strategies to preserve and retrieve value.
Daniel continues to develop and provide our Safe Harbour advisory product in tandem with our business advisory services to a range of confidential clients.
Daniel has provided these services to not-for-profits, SMEs and listed entities in industries including manufacturing, mining, transport, logistics and retail.
Adaman Resources Group (c$180m of debt, turnover of c$130m p.a.),resulting in a major gold mine DOCA restructure, securing the ongoing operation of the mine and preserving the value of the project.
Daniel managed the trading operations both at head office and on-site, prepared the sophisticated financial model and implemented cost minimisation and restructuring strategies. In addition, Daniel’s key role was stakeholder management, including managing lenders, employees, and key suppliers.
Daniel conducted an independent review of a large corporate group conducting bulk haulage and transport services. This included an in-depth financial analysis of the group, which has revenues in excess of $500m p.a. and a debt profile greater than $300m.
Daniel provided expertise in reviewing the group's debt service (including the review of revenues and profitability of a range of business units), leverage, and enterprise value and undertook a secondary exit analysis.
During his career, Daniel has undertaken a number of investigations, forensic reviews of information and prepared expert reports.
These have included investigations into debtor finance fraud and constructive trust claims and expert reports relating to business valuations and fund dispositions
Restructure of companies such as kikki.K, Blindware Australia and Hub Furniture. These engagements required his oversight of trading operations, the management/restructuring of international logistics and freight requirements (including during COVID), implementing store wind-down strategies, financial model preparation and stakeholder management.
Restructure of companies such as Speedpanel Group and the Direct Mail and Marketing Group. These engagements involved implementing revenue-based restructuring strategies, assistance with throughput improvement, oversight of trading operations and financial model preparation.
