Experience

Financial investigation of a body corporate

Engaged by the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations, we prepared an examiner’s report on the Corporation documenting our findings in respect of the engagement as set out in the terms of reference.

The engagement required an assessment of amongst other things whether the corporation was being governed in accordance with the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 “CATSI Act” (including the regulations and the applied Corporations Act 2001 provisions) and its rule book (constitution).

During our review, we identified and reported on several suspected instances of non-compliance with the CATSI Act and the Corporation rule book.

The engagement also required us to investigate possible fraud, mismanagement/misuse of corporate funds/assets and we were also required to determine the solvency of the Corporation at the date of the examination.
